A small bedroom has a fixed budget of floor, wall and air. The furniture either spends that budget wisely or wastes it. After years of compact-flat projects, these are the strategies that reliably work.

Let the bed carry the storage

The bed occupies the biggest footprint in the room, so make it earn the space. A hydraulic lift-up base uses the entire area under the mattress (typically the volume of a full wardrobe) without adding a single centimetre to the room.

Measure the swing, not just the wall

The most common small-bedroom mistake is forgetting clearances: wardrobe doors, drawer pulls, and the walking line to the bed. Sliding doors trade a little internal access for zero swing, often the right trade in rooms under three metres.
